Then he’s off to fly over the Falklands
To see if we have any planes left
He knows with the MOD defence cuts
He can do whatever he wants

(RG) This is a lighthearted poem about Russian bombers testing out the British RAF and the serious reason that we cannot do much about it nowadays due to the massive military cuts that have seriously downgraded the UK Armed Forces.

UK sends warship to Falklands as Argentina lease supersonic bombers from Russia

ONE of Britain’s newest and most powerful warships was last night heading towards the Falklands to strengthen the islands’ air defences.Navy chiefs have sent HMS Dragon, a Type 45 destroyer, to the South Atlantic after a deployment in Chile.

Last night naval sources said the move was part of the MoD’s effort to speed up the “operational drumbeat” by which the Navy keeps guard over the Falklands.

With Argentina attempting to lease 12 supersonic bombers from Russia, the MoD is also to install a new £200million air defence missile system in the islands.

This will replace the ageing Rapier missile batteries which were used against the Argentine air force in the 1982 Falklands War.

However, it will take at least five years before the new system completes development trials and combat evaluations, leaving commanders with a capability gap during the remaining eight months of Argentine president Cristina de Kirchner’s term in office.

Ms de Kirchner, who has repeatedly demanded sovereignty over the islands, has been negotiating with Russia’s President Putin to lease 12 long-range SU-24 supersonic, all-weather attack bombers.

Such a deal would significantly enhance Argentina’s air force. Whitehall expects Argentina’s interest in the islands to wane in response to the drop in oil prices but activists in the South American country remain committed to their campaign to claim the Falklands as their own.

The issue of the islands was “firmly off the table” during David Cameron’s otherwise successful two days of talks in Washington with President Barack Obama.

In 2013 the US joined a declaration by the Organisation of American States calling for negotiations between the UK and Argentina over the sovereignty of the Falklands.Read More   HERE  

(RG) This is more of a headline grabber, its factual yes HMS Dragon is going to the Falklands, but this does not mean imminent War, and this is just a routine show of naval presence. The Argentineans are in no better position to retake the Falklands militarily than they were in 1982.

Deployment of forces raises stakes in Crimea as Moscow hits out at Obama threat.Russia’s parliament granted President Vladimir Putin permission to use the country’s military in Ukraine and also recommended that Moscow’s ambassador be recalled from Washington over comments made by US President Barack Obama.The unanimous vote formalised what Ukrainian officials described as an invasion of Russian troops in the strategic region of Crimea. With pro-Russian protests breaking out in other areas, Moscow could now send its military elsewhere in Ukraine.
“I’m submitting a request for using the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine pending the normalisation of the sociopolitical situation in that country,” Putin said.Read more Here  


Congratulations America and those  tossers Kerry and Obama, once again you have got yourselves involved in another Countries internal affairs and stirred up trouble on the streets of the Ukraine, and the UK aren't much better. Its been 100 Years since world War One, this might just be the prelude to World War Three? If it comes to a scrap between Ukraine and Russia my money is on Moscow.

British troops with chemical warfare kits head to Syrian doorstep

David Cameron loves the phrase “Chemical weapons”, does it remind you of someone else? Tony Blair maybe. The former Prime Minister and War criminal kept repeating this mantra to scare the British public into believing that a scud missile would land on their heads holding lots of nasty stuff that would wipe us all out. The problem is we don’t learn from our mistakes it seems. Roll the clock back to when the Russians were involved in their own folly in Afghanistan, we and the Americans were on the side of the Rebels, you see when you agree with them you call them rebels, not cold blooded Islamist murderers who have beheaded and even cut out the hearts of Syrian soldiers and eaten their hearts. Those rebels fighting the Russians ended up being called the Taliban, well you know the rest don’t you? it’s a civil War in Syria we and the West have no right to get involved, we didn't like it when Colonel Gaddafi was supplying the IRA with weapons and rightly so. The left wing politician called Cameron who’s wife is also a Marxist is following another Marxist leader Obama and after sacking thousands of British troops is now become involved in the  Syrian conflict  this terrible politician who has destroyed the conservative party and the Lib Dems (Not that I’m bothered) is massacring the British army, but so wants his own Blair moment. The analogy I use is call your own street Syria, at one end of the street is a household full of drug dealing gangsters, at the other end is another equally bad family of drug dealers and gangsters, they have been attacking each other and making the street a War zone. How should you respond to the situation? Well, you could leave them to kill each other or you could give them both more weapons and cash, well you can choose which family you think the more blood thirsty. This approach is madness and so is our approach to Syria, the more weapons we give to the murderers, sorry `Rebels` the more Russia and China will give the Assad regime. The truth is a couldn't care less if they wipe each other from the face of the earth, but if I had to choose one side I would choose Assad, because he is fighting extremist Islamic fighters, like the Taliban and Al Queada. Far too much British blood has been spilt in foreign wars. If Cameron wants to get involved then I suggest he gets on a plane and picks up a rifle, something he knows nothing about.

India Unveils Ambitious BrahMos Missile paid for with British overseas aid

The Indo-Russian BrahMos supersonic cruise missile joint venture will expand this year into perhaps its toughest domain, with the company announcing it is nearly ready to conduct the first test of the BrahMos-A, an air-launched version of the weapon.In the works for at least eight years, the BrahMos-A has been integrated onto a specially constructed reinforced belly hardpoint of a modified Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.-built Sukhoi Su-30 MKI, says BrahMos CEO A. Sivathanu Pillai. Captive trials with a full mock-up missile will be conducted in the next two months, with a first test-firing off the east coast of India in early 2014. “The missile integration is nearly complete to the satisfaction of all concerned, including the Indian air force (IAF). Preliminary ground tests will begin shortly. We will build confidence before beginning flight tests and then a test-firing,” Pillai said in Bengaluru during the recent Aero India show.The BrahMos-A is a modified version of the baseline land- or ship-launched version, sporting a smaller booster and fins for airborne stability after launch. The missile also has been modified to relocate its umbilical connector. The missile is designed for a release height from a Su-30MKI of 500-14,000 meters (1,640-46,000 ft.). After a free fall of 100-150 meters, the BrahMos-A has a cruise phase at 14,000 meters and terminal phase at 15 meters.Read More HERE
