British Service personnel have posted pictures of their disgusting meals online

Soldiers complaining online about the disgusting meals they have been served up in Army cookhouses have reportedly been warned they could face legal action.

The grim meals, which included maggot-infested tomatoes, mouldy eggs and raw chicken, hit the headlines earlier this week after a number of servicemen shared pictures on social media.

But army bosses have now allegedly warned them that they could face action for slander from the company that provides army meals, Sodexo.

However, Sodexo say that they have no plans to sue soldiers. Read more Here

Over the past few years, I have been watching the disturbing growth of an insidious enemy, an enemy that represents a very real danger to the fighting capability and morale of our Armed Forces.
This is an enemy that seems to have almost magical powers. Not only can it slow down an infantryman in the thick of a firefight, but it could also cause a Typhoon pilot not to drop his bombs or the captain of a destroyer not to engage with a threatening vessel.
Furthermore, it is an enemy feared by every serviceman and servicewoman in this country. Worse still, it is an enemy many will continue to fear even after they have hung up their berets.
The enemy to which I am referring is not ISIS or, indeed, any form of terrorist or conventional combatant.No, for this is an enemy that carries neither bombs nor bullets — but bundles.
These bundles consist of legal documents and supposed evidence gathered by an army of ambulance-chasing lawyers, and which are then thrown like grenades at soldiers who are supposed to have committed the most heinous war crimes and vile abuses while they were serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Though there can be no doubt that every soldier should, of course, obey the Laws of War and Rules of Engagement, it is to my genuine dismay as a former Army officer and Armed Forces minister that our troops should be subjected to lengthy, spurious and stressful legal probes that have little to do with military reality and justice and everything to do with enriching grandstanding lawyers.

Five Killed, Five Wounded in Afghanistan British military Helicopter Crash

A British military helicopter crashed Sunday in the Afghan capital of Kabul, killing five people and injuring five others, the NATO-led alliance in the country said. Two British Royal Air Force members were among the dead in the crash of three Puma Mk 2 helicopters Britain has deployed in the NATO mission, the British Defense Ministry told NBC News.The helicopter, part of Operation Resolute Support, crashed in what the ministry and NATO called an accident at the mission's Kabul headquarters about 4:15 p.m. local time (7:45 a.m. ET).Read more HERE R.I.P.

Time to respect the wishes of the Falkland Islanders

Invaders.


Thirty-three years ago, Argentina invaded the Falklands and the British liberated it - not the other way around.

Thirty-three years ago today, Argentina illegally invaded and occupied the Falkland Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic.

Against the odds, the then British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, mobilised a task force and successfully liberated the islands two months later. This tragic war ended up needlessly costing the lives of 255 British and more than 649 Argentine soldiers.

Today, Argentina has not given up on its tenuous claim to the islands. This is because it offers a convenient distraction to Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s political and economic woes at home.

Spurious claims

Argentina claims that the Falkland Islands are theirs for two reasons: geographical proximity and the (incorrect) belief that they inherited the islands from Spain upon receiving independence. Both of these claims are spurious.

A quick glance at the globe explains why the first claim is ridiculous. Using the argument of geographical proximity would mean that, if it wanted, Morocco could have a claim on the Canary Islands, for example.

The second claim defies historical facts. The last Spanish settlement on the Falkland Islands left in 1811. What we today call Argentina declared independence from Spain in 1816.

Therefore, at the time of Argentine independence and the collapse of the Spanish Viceroyalty, Argentina could not inherit what Spain did not have to give.

The UK give £27m aid to Argentina

FURY erupted last night after it emerged that Britain is pumping in £27million to Argentina despite the escalating row over the Falklands.

igures from Brussels showed the UK paid £7million to a £50million European Union assistance package. British taxpayers are also contributing £20million to a £450million loan from the International Monetary Fund.

The money is continuing to flow in spite of growing demands from Buenos Aires for Britain to surrender the Falkland Islands and the launch yesterday of a trade war against the UK.
