Two soldiers from 1st Battalion Irish Guards killed in Afghanistan

It is with great sadness that the Ministry of Defence must announce that two soldiers from 1st Battalion Irish Guards were killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday 23rd March 2011. The soldiers were killed by an improvised explosive device after returning from an operation in support of an Afghan National Army Company alongside C Company of the Danish Battle Group to disrupt insurgent activity and search compounds of interest in the Nahr-e Saraj District of Helmand Province. British soldier killed in Afghanistan

It is with sadness that the Ministry of Defence must announce that a soldier from the 1st Battalion Irish Guards, serving with Combined Force Nahr-e Saraj (North), was killed in Afghanistan today, Wednesday 17 November 2010. The soldier died as a result of a gunshot wound that he sustained in an ambush whilst patrolling in the Nahr-e Saraj (North) district of Helmand province. Here
