Operation Market Garden.























































Today is the 70th Anniversary of the start of Operation Market Garden in 1944, an audacious plan by Montgomery to seize vital bridges over the Rhine in Holland and shorten the War in Europe. Unfortunately, as we all know, the bridge at Arnhem proved to be a `Bridge too far` and thousands of British Airborne troops died or were captured as they waited in vain for relief by General Brian Horrocks`s 30 Corps....
