If there is any veterans out their that would like their poetry to feature in a new book I’m compiling with the help of a great lady in the US who has fought for veterans rights for years and is publishing the book free, let me know, this is not the usual publishers making a fast buck, I’m getting nothing in return for my work only the pleasure that it is published and it will help other veterans. Lets make sure we have a big British influence, there will also be a chance to add photos.Eric Newhouse the Pulitzer Prize winner has kindly offered to write the foreword. So if you want to see your work published send your work via email remy@niquahanam.com
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe
Catch the Taliban by the toe
When he squeals shoot him dead
For he will have no mercy
When he hacks of your head

Rogue Gunners version of the nursery rhyme Eeny, meeny, miny, moe
They come from England Ulster Scotland and Wales
Stand proud and tall and hard as nails
From the dole and pubs and some from Jails
Now one as a British soldier
Saddam Hussein or Taliban
It matters not they know they can
From Basra city to Afghanistan
They fight as a British soldier
There not political they just do their job
From bullets and bricks from an angry mob
When a comrade is shot
We will comfort your sob
We are one as a British soldier
If you see a soldier in your street today
Don’t walk on by or look the other way
Just shake his hand and make his day
Give thanks he is a British soldier.

A British soldier died on this hill today
Teenage in years but a soldier no less
He took the Queens shilling
His call to arms
A Mother now weeps
Warrior now rest
He died a soldier
The job he adored
His Granddad so proud
Sister in shock
Oh why at nineteen?
Why wasn’t he spared?
A British soldier died on this hill today
RIP.
