Record the suicide rate of ex-soldiers to help fight Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Lance Sergeant Dan Collins was prepared to pay the ultimate sacrifice for his fellow man, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder was prepared to take that payment. Please if you haven't already signed then sign the Gov't. e-petition and help make a difference. Dan Collins wanted to be a soldier. At just 16 years old he joined the army and served with the Welsh Guards. He did tours in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. In Helmand Province in 2009, Dan Collins could have died several times, but miraculously he survived being shot in the back, his leg being grazed by a bullet and being caught in two bomb blasts. Dan Collins witnessed war up close and personal. Dan Collins came back from Afghanistan scarred by what he had seen. On New Year's Day, Collins telephoned the police from the Preseli Mountains just outside the village of Rosebush in Pembrokeshire in West Wales and told them he was going to hang himself. Dan Collins' name will not appear on any war memorial to the 'Glorious Dead', yet he was as much a victim of the war as any of the official casualties. Sign this petition  HERE

A petition calling on the Prime Minister to compensate service personnel made compulsorily redundant close to pension point.

Between them they have served in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan, now just before they qualify for their military pension, they have been made redundant.
The group, calling themselves Pension Justice for Troops, say the military pension is the key financial promise on which service personnel are recruited, retained and promoted. It is what they have relied on to plan their families' financial future.
Last week Jolene Anderson started a petition because her husband was being made redundant just three days before qualifying for his pension. 100,000 people signed her petition and within two days the Ministry of Defence responded to say her husband had been successful in his transfer request and his redundancy stalled.
The public support for Jolene's petition has inspired the group to campaign for David Cameron to review the situation for all soldiers made redundant just shy of receiving their pensions. The group said "it is a betrayal of the loyalty we have shown the Government to be cast aside so close to this significant financial milestone of service."

Petition gathers pace to protect the last Type 42 destroyer

UK Naval Ensign White

A campaign to save the last of the Royal Navy’s Type 42 destroyers is gathering pace.
Almost 2,000 people have signed a petition supporting plans for the decommissioned HMS Edinburgh to become a floating museum.
The Portsmouth-based ship was decommissioned this year but her fate has not yet been decided.
Veteran Paul Gibb, who served on board as a marine engineering mechanic from 1991 to 1994, has launched a Save HMS Edinburgh petition.
Mr Gibb said: ‘I went on board Edinburgh when she was on her farewell tour and it brought back a lot of memories.
‘I realised I couldn’t just sit back and let this happen and decided I had to do something.
‘I would be gutted if she was scrapped but I’m optimistic.  Read more and sign petition HERE

Walting - Criminal Offence Petition

This petition is raised following the ongoing serious concerns of many service personnel and their families, who have their integrity, honour and pride repeatedly brought into disrepute on a daily basis by those who seek to impersonate such Military Armed Forces and Emergency Services personnel for their own personal gratification and gain. These people live a Walter Mitty lifestyle stealing the valour of our heroes and defrauding the very charities that are set up to support HM Forces, based on such fantasies. Despite efforts to name and shame these fake heroes there is no formal redress for their actions, unlike the USA who have the Stolen Valour Act, which affords the veterans some legal redress those involved in this shameful lifestyle. Here in the UK there is no such law, which prevents these people operating in this way and is a shameful indictment on the UK politicians to allow this to continue to happen, when our true heroes are all too often asked to give their life in the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom, and service of our country. In return they and their families ask for nothing more than the respect that they deserve.

The service community see’s on a daily bases at least two Walter Mitty characters everyday that are in the public domain. Despite these Walts being exposed they either continue "to Walt" or are replaced by many more. The government needs to act to preserve the integrity and dignity of our members of the armed forces, and prevent the further abuse of our men and women who have laid down their lives in many cases, only to be impersonated by "a Walt" who has never served, and sought only to gain reward or recognition.

Most of the efforts made by these fake people result in not just talk to impress by misrepresentation but by the wearing of medals which have not been earned, and premeditated actions that have seen misappropriation of valuable funds generated by the wonderful work of our service charities - which always causes loss to those that need help most.

With our Army, Navy and Air Force being involved in conflicts for many years it has been up until now easy to emulate our brave men without fear of redress, however this unscrupulous conduct is even more evident now days and has taken this shameful behavior to a new unprecedented level of disrespect. We the under signed strongly request that the British Government immediately formulates and imposes laws to eradicate this behavior and immediately stop and prosecute these fake service men and women involved in the despicable act of stolen valour against our brave service men and women, Security Services, and Emergency Services personnel. Read More and sign petition  HERE

These so called medicals are purely designed to take money away from the claimants regardless of the severity of their disability be it mentally or physically or both in the case of many ex service personnel. Having had experience of these medicals I can tell you that they leave you completely shattered and depressed. If these attacks upon or brave men and woman are allowed to go ahead then I sadly predict that some veterans may commit suicide as they will feel like a burden upon their Country which, cannot be morally justified. If you want to fight back against these attacks upon the bravest and most vulnerable in our society then
