So Iran are going to release our service personnel, I hope so, but are we supposed to be grateful to the mad mullahs? They shouldn’t have taken them in the first place. I just hope from now on we do not allow ourselves to be used as political pawns like this. The big winner in all this is Iran, they have demonstrated to the whole world and especially the Muslim world that they are the main player in the Gulf. They call this a gift and to the relatives of these service personnel it is just that. Lets hope they honour their word on this, I wont be happy until they are all back safely on British soil.

ReplyDeleteThat alone undermined the dominant Middle Eastern Power, Israel. If those doctors had better monitored Ariel Sharon he would not be PVS now and Olmert would not have been PM.
Remember what that was about - Kadima - Peace Plan - withdraw from settlements. ?
All we have is Iran funding Hezbollah and Syria and Hamas and playing games with the under-resourced British in Basra.
This latest stunt was just like the arrest of Stephane Lherbier and Donald Klein in November 2005 from a fishing boat - the Iranians claimed they had violated their waters.
Iran wants to rebuild the Persian Empire of Xerxes, and is frightened of "spies" so it snatches those it can....and they could get the Royal Marines on 23rd May....
THey are playing a tactical and a long game....we aren't even on the field yet
