Scotland has seen the biggest proportionate decline in Ministry of Defence service personnel in the UK, it has emerged. Officials statistics show a continuing decline in the number of service and civilian military personnel based north of the border.
Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has again written to Secretary of State for Defence Philip Hammond urging clarity around the future of defence in Scotland — and cited Leuchars as a specific point of concern.
