British soldier killed in Afghanistan




A British soldier was killed in an explosion on New Year's Day in the Garmsir district of Helmand province, southern Afghanistan. Next of kin have been informed.
Commander Paula Rowe, spokeswoman for Task Force Helmand, said: "It is deeply saddening to confirm the loss of a British soldier who died whilst helping to provide security in Southern Helmand.Read It Here RIP

Britain mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.
