£3 billion contracts signed for largest ever UK warships


Contracts to build two Royal Navy aircraft carriers, the largest and most potent warships to be designed and built in the UK, have been signed by the MOD and industry today, Thursday 3 July 2008.

(RG) I really hope these ships are built as my home town of Barrow will benefit from the work, But the Labour Government will be long gone before these blueprint ships turn into metal ones and then it will be a Conservative Government that might have to pull the plug? There is a long way to go yet but one thing is for sure weapons for War fighting will be needed in to the next Century and beyond as mankind has a habit of wanting to kill each other. I suppose the Tories could put fuel duty up, perhaps not?
