Royal Navy and Marines are 'forgotten heroes'



The remark was made as a poll showed that nearly half the population (48 per cent) did not know that the Royal Marines were part of the Navy.
It also found that three quarters believe the "sea soldiers" have not been recognised for their role in Iraq and Afghanistan, while a similar percentage felt the personnel did not receive enough support on their return home.
