One day after going for a walk from our military accommodation myself and Scouse bumped into a couple (Bob & Betty) out walking and we got chatting to them, they were both Americans and had sailed to the Falkland Islands in their own yacht . We explained that we were veterans and took a Quick snap with them, they seemed really nice people.
It transpired that Bob was an F4 pilot in the Vietnam War and had over 300 combat carrier landing, no mean feat in anyone’s eyes.
Above is an F4 Phantom similar to the ones Bob flew in the South China Sea, I photographed this one at MPA Falklands.
