FACT THE ARGENTINE GOVERNMENT IGNORES: The Falklands have never belonged to Argentina, Argentina did not exist when they became British territory, they have never stopped being British territory; you can not reclaim something that you have never had legal possession of. A couple of months occupation by a German and a band of European (mostly British) mercenaries, almost 200 years ago does not count as an official claim for Argentina (a country that did not exist until 1853, after a civil war between the United Provinces changed the map of the Southern Cone).

The United Provinces surrendered its claim officially in writing in 1850, that claim remained surrendered up until 1941 when General Juan Peron, a member of a fascist junta (something your country is only too familiar with) having visited his friends Hitler and Mussolini believed Britain was about to loose WW2. The fact is Argentina has never had sovereignty of the Falklands and the UN founding charter supports the Falkland Islanders rights, not Argentina's claim.

The C24 committee is another sick joke. Argentina has not got anything past the UN for almost 50 years, the last resolutions pasted by the UN in regards to the Falklands were demands for Argentine junta to respect international sovereignty and withdraw from the islands, which they ignored. What they call the UN is a much maligned committee, associated with the UN but not technically part of the UN, it does not pass resolutions and most Western nations have ostracised it. On the C24 sit such nations as China (an Empire in its own right, still occupying various sub nations such as Tibet against their will), Iran, Syria, Cuba, Syria and Venezuela. Many of those on the committee have no concept of "self determination" for their own people let alone anyone else's! C24 is a sick joke peddled relentlessly by the Argentine propaganda machine. Argentina needs to start respecting international sovereignty as it was forced to do with other neighbouring states it had long claimed territory from.
