PARIS AIR SHOW: Rolls-Royce tests engine upgrade for Indian Jaguars The Jaguar is a still a good aircraft even today although obviously slightly dated. I remember being attacked in the Falklands War at San Carlos by retard bombs, not a good memory. Below is an extract from my book Watching Men Burn.



The main ordnance of the enemy aircraft was high explosive bombs, rockets and cannons, but on the odd raid they used retard bombs with parachutes. That really freaked me out as they all seemed to be directly above my head, just hanging there forever just taking the piss. Nasty bit of kit, I’d rather not see the f***** before it turned me into compost. Luckily none hit our position. Some landed too close for comfort and shook the ground around our trenches. In fact, some shells were fired at
us by our Gunner buddies from 4 Field Regt RA (Para’s) Accidentally . That would have been nice, a blue on blue incident, as they say. One retard bomb landed on a trench nearby killing a Sapper named Gandhi. RIP.
