Unseen Heroes



LYING on the carpeted floor, a former soldier placed his feet firmly against the locked door to guard against would-be intruders as he contemplated whether his decision to seek shelter was the right one. After all, Chris Latham had spent about three years living in a tree in St James’s Park and had become wise to the nightly games of cat and mouse played by drunken revellers seeking a tramp to kick.
