Books for the British?
I placed a link on the Blog for a group that sends books overseas to US serviceman, I e-mailed the organisation and asked if there was anyway we could help the British troops as we dont get much support over here, this was the reply.
"In truth we are enjoying popularity now, we've had a surge in requests from the US soldiers, so I can't say how folks will react if I suggest support for UK troops, but I will certainly ask".
Perhaps he thought I was the Taliban?

What an unfortunate answer. The man who runs that site, does so much, I have to believe he sent that reply off without thinking how it sounded.
ReplyDeleteHow about this site?

Perhaps I took him out of context and he means well. Thanks for your link Maggie.
ReplyDeleteI'm an ex-squaddie and a member of Bookcrossing. If you can supply a generic address for books to be sent to, I can try to generate interest on the Bookcrossing website to get books sent out. It would be good to have addresses for both Iraq and Afghanistan.
ReplyDeleteMy blog is at http://longfordmainebookcrossing.blogspot.com/
