Army Head Calls For Soldier Pay Boost


The head of the British Army has sparked a fresh debate over soldiers' wages - pointing out that a traffic warden may earn more than a new soldier. Read It Here




(RG) I personally did not join the army because of the pay, I joined because I wanted to be a soldier regardless of how much I was paid and I believe today’s young men & woman are no different than I was. Having said that a boost in the pay packet would also boost morale and recruitment and they surely deserve more than a traffic warden don’t they?

  2. MAC - How about an across the ranks operational tour bonus (tax free) £5k in designated "active areas" with lesser sum £2k for "non active combat" tours ??

  3. That idea sounds good to me SOC and totally common sense, something that the MOD might find difficult to understand.
