British soldiers have been put at risk of contracting deadly diseases from contaminated American blood, it was claimed last night.
The 18 servicemen received emergency blood transfusions at American field hospitals after being seriously wounded in the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

(RG) It’s a bit too easy to just blame this one on the Americans. Lets remember these soldiers were gravely injured and may have died anyway. We asked for the help and American blood and they gave it without hesitation. The problem lies solely once again firmly at the foot of the MOD. Add to the long list of problems yet another vital one BLOOD these guys are giving it for their country by the gallon but we don’t have any to give back. I pray these brave men make a full recovery and are free of any disease. Dedicated screened blood supplies for our Forces? They cant even give them pyjamas when they are injured what chance have they got? Perhaps we should take eight pints from Derek Twigg.
