The Vulcan bomber - a warrior of the Cold War era and a decisive weapon in the Falklands War - took to the skies for the first time in 14 years today.
The Avro Vulcan XH558 was the last of the aircraft to fly in 1993 when it was hangared at an airfield in Bruntingthorpe, Leics. Read It Here
(RG) I know some people looked at the bombing of Stanley Airfield during the Falklands War as a not achieving much as the bombs missed but it did prove to the Junta that we could reach them direct from our home base in the UK which was no mean feat and the physiological benefits on the Argentine forces was worth every air mile. Great to see her in the air again, well done to all involved.
