Iran seize British Sailors.
Well it seems to me that Iran are spoiling for a fight and the arrest of these British forces is an escalation of tension. Forget the WMD in Iraq it is a fact that Iran are supplying insurgents with arms & ammunition and killing our forces there. Whether you agree with our forces being in Iraq seizing Royal Navy serviceman is a piece of brinksmanship by Imadinnerjacket, he figures we don’t have the balls to do anything about it, like last time when our forces were humiliated. As I understand it our forces were taking part in a routine operation boarding merchant ships in Iraqi territorial waters when they were taken captive by Iranian naval vessels. I don’t know the full facts but why did we not fight back? The Iranians have made us look like an easy target for any renegades to have a go. What if these so called Iranians had been Al Qaeda, surely they could pretend to be Iranian and our boys could be in serious trouble. There will probably be a tense stand off with our Government appeasing the Iranians, but if you ask me this is an act of War.

Iran knows that the UK havent got the balls to fire a shot in anger, if they had taken US servicemen the country would be hurting badly and so would Iran.
ReplyDeleteMan, this pisses me off almost as much as it does you. The leader of the team should have order tehm to fight back. No soldier should just go willingly into capture. If it is just a show of brinksmanship, then your troops firing back would have done one of two things, caused the Iranians to back off, or go in blazing. Going in Blazing would have brought down the wrath of God on them. Why didn't the local commander have the helos intercept the Iranian boat? some hard questions need to be asked.
ReplyDeleteIran is testing the resolve of the West - do we have any left? I'm not sure either. Outside of a few diehard patriots/bloggers, you'd be hard pressed to find people who even know this happened, let alone care. These young sailors and marines are in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeletePS -Thanks for visiting my place.
The coalition needs to show some backbone on this. It is not an atack on just the UK soldiers, it is an attack on the whole coalition peace effort. while we sit by and do nothing but talk, the hard core muslim extremists are emboldened. There will be more events like this in the future.
ReplyDeleteThose poor sailors, Iran wants war...
ReplyDeleteabsurd thought -
God of the Universe says
