Police officer has been shot following Loyalist violence.



The victim was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
He was attacked in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, after disturbances involving the Ulster Defence Association.
The policeman sustained injuries to the back or chest during the Castlemara Drive incident.
A second man, a civilian, has also been taken to hospital after a serious assault. His condition is unknown.
Police have arrested three men suspected of terrorism after stopping a car nearby.
They were called after reports that a large crowd had gathered on Saturday evening.
