Interviews with a Sapper and a Hussar
TED HUNT - Royal Engineers
At 91 Ted amazed us all with his encyclopaedic memory of his time as 2 I/C of the D Day Rhino LSTs, the huge landing craft that could land up to 50 vehicles on beaches in very shallow waters.  He provides a genuinely rare insight into the planning and execution of one of the twentieth century’s greatest military campaigns.  A remarkable lad that rapidly rose through the ranks from Sapper to Major, and has knowledge that has helped the Royal Engineer Museum.  An interview not to be missed.

ALAN TIZZARD - Royal Hussars
As a boy Alan was mad about motor cars.  Little could he imagine that at 18 he would be commanding a 32,000 horsepower tank on the Russian borders during the height of the Cold War.  Alan shares some interesting insights into Cold War tank training and life in Germany.HERE

Stories from a Para and a Pioneer

BRYAN "TAB" HUNTER
1 Para veteran, "Tab", says he "joined the toughest regiment in the British Army" in 1955 and was posted straight to Cyprus in 1956.  He spent 9 months in Cyprus during the year that we lost around 300 British troops in that emergency.  "Tab" gives a very interesting and humorous account of what life was like in the Army and some of the scrapes he and his fellow Para’s got into.
