Nothing better than watching a film that is ‘based on true accounts’. Except when those true accounts get so twisted and distorted that you forget what the film is about!

When you look at a real historical event from which a film is derived, you sometimes discover that the moviemakers have mixed up the facts, dramatizing certain aspects for effect, or breezing over parts of the story that don’t suit the particular narrative.
