It is with sadness that the Ministry of Defence must announce that a soldier from the 2nd Battalion, The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham on 10 September 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in Afghanistan The soldier, serving as part of Combined Force Nahr-e Saraj (South), died from the injuries sustained from a gunshot wound in the Nahr-e Saraj District of Helmand Province on the morning of 23 August 2010.
