Support for our troops in Iraq halves in two years
I support the lads on the ground 100% unfortunately the Government doesn’t. I’m my opinion Iraq cannot be solved militarily. Read it here
Sadley, the support decrease is not from the government, but from the people themselves. We will always find that unless the general public thinks it is immediate danger of being atacked (and therofre missing an episode of big brother) it will not want to pay for protection of others. It's just human nature. Like you, I support them 100% regardless of who they are fighting.
'Supporting the troops' is an extremely vague phrase. I think sending the British Army to Iraq was a stupid idea that was going to get men killed and maimed at vast public expense for absolutely no gain whatsoever, and the best thing we can possibly do is get them out of the irresolvable mess we've made in Iraq whilst we still have an army left. Do I qualify?
