Fury as Argentina operates 'blockade' of Falklands







Argentina has been accused of a ‘disgraceful’ campaign of intimidation against fishing boats which have UK licences to operate off the Falkland Islands.
The government in Buenos Aires has stepped up its official policy of blockading the British territory by ordering the Argentine navy to board ships that it claims are fishing there illegally. Argentine president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner last year issued a decree requiring all vessels passing through its territorial waters to and from the Falklands to secure consent from Buenos Aires. Argentina is taking advantage of the severe finiacial situation in the UK and brutal defence cuts. She is bady mistaken if she thinks she can bully us into discussing sovereignty. The way tensions are rising next years 30th anniversary may well turn out to be a year to remember. Argentinean President Cristina Kirchner is using the Falklands as a way of taking Argentinianas minds from their own domestic problems. Both Countries cannot afford another War but if push comes to shove Britian will defend her citizens in the Falkland Islands militarily, they pay their taxs and deserve the same rights as we living in the UK. I’m my opinion the most important military asset that terrifies the Argentinians is our hunter killer submarines.
