A British soldier has been killed in an explosion in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed. The soldier, from 2nd Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment attached to 1st Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles, was killed in the morning.
