Soldier from 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment killed in Afghanistan

It is with sadness the Ministry of Defence must announce that a soldier from the 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment, serving as part of Combined Force Nahr-e Saraj (South), was killed in Afghanistan today Saturday 12 June 2010. Read It Here RIP


With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
Britain mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.
