Normal service is resumed

I didn’t post yesterday because I went over to the North East to visit my partners family and bring their Christmas presents. When I got back late last night I thought stupidly that I must do my Blog, I decided not to and went to bed as I was shattered driving in dark rainy weather, and I am glad. For those that sent anonymous emails, keep them coming if it makes you feel better, go for it. For those that have sent supportive e-mails many thanks. I don’t expect everyone to agree with everything I say but I have to say it as I find it or it would not be a correct refection of what it says on the top of my Blog `The thoughts of a Falklands veteran` and I could just churn out nice little photographs of the army and say how wonderful life is. Until my freedom of speech is taken away from me or I leave this earth I will continue to speak my mind, don’t agree move on. One of the criticisms that came from the Royal Regiment Of Scotland Forum was the fact that I had to vet the comments on the Blog before I post them, I cant believe that ex soldiers would find this a problem? How would they feel if a soldier from the Royal Regiment Of Scotland was killed in Afghanistan and I allowed some raving lefty or a Taliban sympathiser to gloat at his death? I know that relatives and friends of the fallen do from time to time read this Blog and it would be ridiculous under the `Free Speech` umbrella to allow such nonsense. Well `Rogue Gunner` will hopefully still be here in the New Year unless I get drunk and press the delete button as I’m sure some Bloggers do from time to time and then regret it the next day.

  1. I may not like or agree with everything you write, but I will defend to the last your RIGHT to put your views in the public domain...so I stole the sentiment.
Merry Christmas, if people can remember what the 25th is supposedly all about.
A prosperous New Year, and to those detractors in Scotland...if you read these blogs with the same open mindedness that you read your Bibles, then perhaps you can feel pain with your fellow comrade. May your god give you understanding and compassion.
