Brown's fury as RAF personnel ordered not to wear uniforms in public

Prime Minister Gordon Brown urged Britain's armed forces today to wear their uniforms in public and condemned any abuse of them by people opposed to the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.Servicemen and women from RAF Wittering have been ordered not to wear uniform in public. Read It Here

(RG) Its certainly a bit rich to say the least that Gordon Brown is furious at the banning of RAF personnel wearing uniforms in public as it is his Socialist Government that has created the problems for our servicemen & woman in the first place. These brave young men & woman join up to serve their Country, they do not choose the Wars they fight in and do the job as best as they can in a professional manner. Imagine showing our brave spitfire pilots that won the battle of Britain against the Nazi Luftwaffe after our Victory in World War Two a vision of Britain in 2008? What an insult to our brave airmen. Lets remember these RAF personnel are not kids that need protection they are grown men and woman some of whom have fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, I’m sure they can deal with a few mouthy civilian ignorant cowards. The fact is this decision taken by the base commander in my view was not taken for the protection of our RAF personnel just because a minority don’t like their uniforms, this was taken solely to appease the local population that have sympathies with the countries we are at War with. There have been many examples of this discrimination in the past this one at a
BP Garage, the despicable treatment of our Royal Marines at the Walkabout Bar Then we have the reason why I would never set foot in Harrods if they paid me. Then there was the humiliating our soldiers had to face when they returned to the UK on Christmas Eve last year at Birmingham Airport I could go on, but I guess you get the picture now. The young men & woman who are willing to lay down their lives are told one minute to stand proud and hold your head up on the parade square have pride in your Regiment, Squadron or Ship, then the next banned from wearing the same uniform in the towns and cities of the UK, told to cover it up the uniform with a long civilian coat like your some kind of criminal. I personally feel that the vast majority of the people of Peterborough are proud of their Armed Forces and due to the decision taken by the base commander Peterborough’s image in the UK will suffer as a result. I would urge all the citizens of Peterborough who disagree with this ban to contact their local MP to complain, Douglas Bader would be turning in his grave RIP. Thank God you haven’t had to see how our once great Nation has turned out.

  1. It is indeed a sad day when the people turn their backs on the very ones that have sworn to protect them. Our Democrats are the same. They all spout how they support the troops, but you can judge how they really feel by the cut and run retoric, I could go on forever, but you, I am sure, have reead it all...stay well....
