Summer Time
Its been a lovely sunny day here in the North West of England, even the breeze was warmer than usual. I always feel there is optimism at this time of year. As soon as you wake up the noise of some neighbour cutting his lawn drifts through your window. So I wrote this poem `Summer Time`
Summer Time
Back once more
Fresh cut grass
Shoulders red raw
Chilled lager for lunch
Relax in the shade
Children’s laughter
Ice cream &Lemonade
Summer Time
Here again
Bright & Optimistic
Not a chance of rain
Couples holding hands
A kiss in the park
Gentle evening breeze
Warm gusts in the dark
The bark of a dog
Backfire of a car
As you lie in your bed
The smell of fresh tar
Red Sky at night
Shepard’s delight
Its to hot to sleep
Chilled lager at night?
