A disgraceful attack on a British Hero.
(RG) Was Colonel 'H' a mad fool? Are we all mad fools for going to war? I don’t know what actually happened that day with Colonel H but what I do know is he led his men, as an officer he would not expect any of his men to do anything that he would not do himself. I feel to even suggest he was a mad fool is a disgusting slur on a very brave officer leading one of the bravest most professional Regiments in the British Army. It seems even in death there is always someone who will try to besmirch your reputation. No Colonel H was not in my opinion a mad fool. The mad fools were civil servants who though they could axe half of the Royal Navy and withdraw HMS Endurance. Colonel H and the rest of the dead and wounded just paid the price for their negligence but that’s what soldiers do, soldier and sometimes die.
