Sundays Fire Mission

Military Babe Of The Day

Why Some Brits Don't Want a Sir Ted Kennedy I am a proud member of the face-book group against this mans Knighthood. Apart from this mans Odious political beliefs he has no honour and will be remembered for the crash at Chappaquiddick. Giving him a Knighthood only cheapens this award further and insults the thousands of victims of Terrorism. If you are a UK citizen (Which isn’t difficult these days) and feel strongly about this please sign the petition Here

HMS Gannet's aircrews amass honours for life-saving deeds Its refreshing to see that men & woman of HMS Gannet have been recognised for their outstanding bravery. These are justifiable awards unlike the overpaid footballers and arrogant stuffed shirted blindingly white teethed arseholes like Simon Cowl and his ilk.

MOD supports Military No Smoking Day I’m all for supporting this campaign as it does save lives and it does deprive the Socialist thief in Downing Street of extra tax revenue on the back of cancer and death.

Here SHE is!!! USS New York Made from the Remains of World Trade Centre!!!

USS New York

It was built with 24 tons of scrap steel
from the World Trade Center .

It is the fifth in a new class of warship - designed for missions that include special operations against terrorists. It will carry a crew of 360 sailors and 700 combat-ready Marines to be delivered ashore by helicopters and assault craft.

Steel from the World Trade Center was melted down in a foundry in Amite , LA to cast the ship's bow section. When it was poured into the moulds on Sept 9, 2003, 'those big rough steelworkers treated it with total
reverence,' recalled Navy Capt. Kevin Wensing, who was there. 'It was a spiritual moment for everybody there.'

Junior Chavers, foundry operations manager, said that when the trade centre steel first arrived, he touched it with his hand and the 'hair on my neck stood up.' 'It had a big meaning to it for all of us,' he said. 'They
knocked us down. They can't keep us down. We're going to be back.' The ship's motto? 'Never Forget'

'Blood on its hands': SAS chief blames Government for deaths of four soldiers in Afghanistan Major Sebastian Morley has a conscience unlike the MOD who don’t care how much blood they have on their hands.

  1. Apart from sharing his opinion regarding the MoD, do you agree with Major Morley's assessment of the situation in Afghanistan?

  2. Major Morley is an experienced SAS officer but I personally would not compare Afghanistan with Vietnam which is an easy thing to do and will always conjure up defeat. Whether we like it or not we are Foreigners in Afghanistan but not in the same way as Vietnam. Vietnam was a conventional War and the Americans used a scorched earth policy and there were far more military and civilian causalities than we see in Afghanistan. If and it’s a big if we don’t get the majority of the civilian population on the coalition side then we could still see ourselves fighting in 100 years time. The difference is I believe that the average Afghani dose not want the Taliban with their brutal regime their either, they want self determination and respect of their own Sovereignty and I believe even though it is early doors that with mentoring to the ANA and ANP helping farmers move away from the drugs trade , building infra structure , schools hospitals, education we may crack it unlike. Like Iraq I was not a big fan of us going their in the first place, but we are there now and cant just walk away?

  3. Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I still wonder what you think about his opinion regarding our chances of "winning" (which he views as slight) and if such chances are indeed (as Morley asserts) jeoparized by the lack of field-worthy supplies (be it troops, ammo, transport, etc.) offered by the MoD.

  4. If you want me to come out and say whether we will `win` or `lose` I literally could not answer that question as I don’t have enough information to come to a conclusion. If you mean the British Army alone then definitely `NOT` this is a global problem. We must consider the morale of the troops in Afghanistan, we cannot leave them there if their commanders think they will `LOOSE.` a Lot will depend on Pakistan and its internal political troubles which many think stem from the War in Afghanistan. With the recent murder of British soldiers in Northern Ireland, this can also affect our long term plans as well as a change in the British Government which is pretty certain at the next general election. But we can all just say War is bad lets all come home and give each other hug, I’m afraid the boogie man will come and visit us eventually.
