Waving Loony I doubt if Borat would have been captured as easily by the Iranians!

'Afghanistan Hasn't Yet Become NATO's Vietnam' True and if we fight this War correctly it never will. Most Afghan civilians don’t want us there but equally they don’t want the Taliban either, if we left Afghanistan ,it doesent mean that the Taliban would leave also, this is not the case, they would stay to safe guard their Narcotics and impose strict Sharia law upon the Country. One thing the West and mainly the US people should never forget is the reason we are there in the first place!

Recruits heading for the front line
Sadly the way the world is at the moment, their kids kids will be heading to the front line, but it is for our future generations that we must fight.

MEET OUR ARMY LASSES I have got to say that I missed out serving with the girls when I was in, but I’m sure they do a great job even with PMT.

Faslane staff warned to stay silent on nuclear submarine collision
They can warn them all they want, but the MOD want to hope the real reason the subs collided isn’t on a lap top or it will be on the front page of tomorrows Sun newspaper.

Defence Secretary John Hutton: Britain could send more troops to Afghanistan I believe there is the same number of British troops kicking their heals in Northern Ireland as there is in Afghanistan? Its time to get tough with some of these cowardly European members of NATO.

Afghanistan: British suffer four times as many casualties as Americans
This just shows the heavy fighting our boys are doing.

The horrors of the First World War This is a good poem.

OH WHAT WAR

A threatened cry from a distant land
Echoes craggy peak to sandy shore,
The disease of power raises its hand
And man's fickle will declares 'glorious' war!
A youth, not yet a man in prime
Was forced to join his nation's hand,
In glory and tears, and fear sublime
Leaves precious soil as the powers command.
He braved stormy sea and scorching sun,
Bound mountains high and valleys wide
Nearer the enemy his thoughts turned home —
"How my friend can war breed 'pride'?"
Now amidst the battle's rage,
Torn and bleeding bodies writhe
The once beautiful vale now a bloody cage,
Holds tormented souls, not sickle and scythe.
More pain that mind can comprehend
Was unleashed upon the grizzly scene,
For the youth it had to end -
Damn honour and pride — country and Queen!
Where oh where is man's compassion?
Can he not bear to forgive?
The deserting soldier, tied and gagged -
Now has no 'right' his life to live.
The firing squad aims blazing guns -
"Hail Mary, hail Mary," the youth recites.
The bullet from the barrel runs -
The young man's body, deprived of life!
