A gunman shot dead by police after a five hour stand-off was a practising barrister.
Mark Saunders, 32, was named locally as the man at the centre of a gun battle in upmarket Markham Square, Chelsea, south-west London.
Officials are investigating whether Mr Saunders also recently served as a soldier in the British Army .Read It Here

(RG) My sympathies to Mark Saunders family, luckily no Police or civilians were killed or injured. I wonder if he was suffering from PTSD?

He was in the TA (Hon Artillery Company), never saw any action and was suffering from depression and alcoholism. His problems were nothing to do with the effects of military service, unless he had been served with an inferior port in the officers mess. Still a rather sorry story about someone who didn't have the courage to do it quietly, but had to cause shedloads of PTSD in those who had to shhot him.
