Britannia is dead
She lies in the gutter
Torn dirty and soiled
Walked on by the masses
Betrayed by her country
Britannia is dying
One lone man is crying
His medals are worthless
He lies in the gutter
The last of his generation
To bear arms for Britannia
His heart stops
A generation is dead
Britannia is dead.

Where there is life, there is hope.
ReplyDelete'Britannia Is Dead' elicits tears for mentally and physically wounded war-weary warriors; , anger at snot-brat adults who play politics with honorable men's lives; joy at the beauty of a valiant warrior's soul; pride in nations citizenry willing to fight for a warrior's right to achieve victory; admiration for those who love and understand warriors and why the do what they feel they must do; but above all - respect for each and every human who stands firm against tyranny and despots.
Will God ever forgive those who send valiant men off to war, then suddenly, with apparent malice, jerk the rung from under military and intelligence, personnel?
I have faith in hope. I have hope in faith. There exist too many men imbued with a lust for individual freedom combined with just rule of law
to believe evil will triumph. Not the evil of an enemy sworn to destroy freedom, but the evil of complacent but power-hungry civilians who have wormed their way into positions of power and seek to destroy those who still willingly fight for freedom, justice, and honor.
marshrose - civilian and old woman whose heart remains ablaze with love and respect for you who continue to make freedom possible.
