Soldier from Royal Welsh killed in Afghanistan



It is with sadness that the Ministry of Defence must announce that a soldier from 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh (Royal Welch Fusiliers) was killed in Afghanistan today, 7 April 2010. The soldier was killed as a result of a gunshot wound sustained during an exchange of fire with insurgents that happened near Showal, in the Nad-e-Ali District of Helmand Province, this afternoon.
