Argentina is letting the UK know that she still disputes the Sovereignty of the Falkland Islands with this latest provocative act by detaining a ship they claim to be used to supply material linked to the oil industry. The fact that the UK could be all the better in the region of 60BILLION barrels of oil is bound to annoy the Argentines and spark Fears Of New Falklands War but that’s tough as it just so happens to be OUR territory. I would guess that they think the UK may not have the stomach for another fight with our military involvement in Afghanistan. They are very wrong. I would suggest that Gordon Brown would like nothing more than Argentina invading the Falklands again before the next election and thus wrapping himself in the Union flag and doing a Maggie Thatcher as she was due to loose her seat before the 1982 War. If the worst happens then we must use all of our available military to defend a British Territory as unlike the population of Afghanistan the Falkanders are British tax payers and British citizens. The War on terror would have to wait for a while for the War on oil.
