(RG) The catalogue of gaffs and blunders and outright incompetence continues unabated from the MOD. Imagine if you were responsible for the purchase of eight 747 Jumbo jets for British Airways costing millions of dollars and when they arrive they are not airworthy due to a soft ware problem. Do you think that the guy or guys responsible would be fired? You can bet your bottom dollar they would, but the shady people responsible for the protection of our Country at home and abroad are coated in a strange Teflon cocoon and are immune from any blame or penalty. The people paying the real penalty for their incompetence are our soldiers in Afghanistan, may of whom would have had their lives saved if they could have been airlifted to hospital. Like Labour they are “Getting on with the job”
