MoD loses data of 600,000 would-be recruits

The personal details of 600,000 people interested in joining the Armed Forces have been lost after a laptop belonging to a Royal Navy officer was stolen, the Ministry of Defence has said. Read It Here

(RG) The incompetence of this Government is surely unprecedented in modern times, the stumble from one balls up to the next, but this latest farce is no laughing matter for the men and woman who’s details are now in the hands of a criminal and could now quite easily find there way in to the hands of a terrorist. Not a very good way of boosting recruitment is it? And who can blame them not wanting to be part of the (MOD) Ministry Of Disasters. Perhaps they could offer the theif an amnesty, they may give him a job with the MOD or command of and aircraft carrier?

  1. This is completely beyond belief that information could be stored on an unencrypted laptop, whoever is responsible for this needs to hang, it's shameful it happening with the Inland Revenue but there is not much chance of that one getting into the wrong hands, for all we know this could have been targeted and the thief knew exactly what he was looking for....

I don't leave my laptop in the car and the most they would find on mine is visiting you porn..lol...
