TENSIONS between Britain and Argentina over the Falkland Islands were ratcheted. Argentine president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner was accused of scoring “an own goal” after threatening to stop flights from the islands as “a punishment” for Britain’s refusal to renew sovereignty negotiations.
In an address to the United Nations general assembly, Mrs Kirchner, 58, said her government was considering suspending the Falklands to Chile air link which lands in Argentina. More HERE
