ARE THE PRESS AND TV HELPING THE TALIBAN?

British troops have launched helicopter advances in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province to prepare the battlefield for a major NATO operation. The operations are on the outskirts of Marjah a warren of desert canals held by the Taliban, which US Marines say they intend to seize soon in what will be one of the biggest assaults of the eight-year war. British and Afghan troops have been carrying out what are described as "shaping operations" in the Nad Ali district as part of an initial phase of Operation Moshtarak, or "together", a large assault which will seize the entire district.

In recent days I have seen Sky TV with film of the British hostages in Somalia, using a sham doctor as a way of publicising the captives for the Pirates, sorry (Murdering thieving scum) I’ve seen a female Sky TV reporter with Taliban fighters who were showing her how they make IEDs. Funny how they can get that near but our special forces cannot? The press could at least wait until our forces have finished their operations in Afghanistan before they report upon them, it may save a few lives, one is enough reason. Unfortunately the armchair viewers need to be embedded in Helmand Province, or of the coast of Somalia chasing Pirates , until its time for Coronation Street.
