Mondays Fire Mission (Delta)

British soldier amputee to return to Afghanistan 'to take fight to the Taliban' A member of 1st Battalion, the Royal Anglian Regiment, Pte Woollard's life was almost lost after stepping on a hidden anti-personnel mine while on patrol in southern Afghanistan in May 2007.
Lying on the scorched earth and paralysed by pain, he was unable to move or scream for help. In the minutes that followed the blast, his heart stopped three times while he was receiving treatment.
Despite the severity of his injuries, the soldier from Essex is determined to risk his life once again on the battlefields of Afghanistan. You are a very brave young man and Royal Anglian Regiment and the whole Country are very proud of you. See the video below to see the welcome our troops get by some people who live here and are protected by the likes of Pte Woollard and his mates. The Socialists have done a great job haven’t they!

MoD publishes Twitter guidelines for forces personnel It goes something like tell everyone how happy you all are and are well compensated when your injured and how all the vehicles we use in Afghanistan are fantastic and how you all love Labour and Gordon Brown.

A handmade leather heart, a gold cross and a train ticket: The poignant keepsakes found at mass World War I graves in France They are the personal mementoes and keepsakes of men whose bodies have lain abandoned and disturbed in the wake of one of the First World War's most deadly and wasteful battles.
Between 250 and 300 bodies of British and Australian soldiers have been discovered in mass graves in northern France, where they were buried by German forces after the disastrous 1916 Battle of Fromelles.
Among the personal items found with their bodies and which have been excavated from the graves are a leather heart, a heart-shaped leather pouch containing a solid gold cross and a copper alloy crucifix.
A train ticket from Fremantle to Perth, where soldiers from Western Australia signed up for duty, also forms part of the poignant collection. This is a fascinating and sad insight to the human suffering of the First World War, RIP.
