SAS members stage revolt as 'PC Plod' joins their secret club
A bitter row has erupted at Britain's most secretive private club – over an influx of members from the police force.
Entrance to the Special Forces Club has traditionally been limited to soldiers from the SAS, their SBS counterparts and bona fide spies from MI5 and MI6.
But an increasing number of police officers have now joined up – much to the dismay of many of the institution's 2,500 stalwart members.

I've been to the Club as the guest of an OSS friend of my father's. I was in my 20's at the time and was too stupid to appreciate where I was being taken.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear of the Club's financial difficulties. I belong to a few other clubs for those of us with military connections and wonder how they will cope financially as there don't seem to be enough potential members in the next generation to keep these places alive- which is a huge pity.
I'm sorry that ploddy his pissed off some of the old boys in Knightsbridge. Warfare is changing and, like it or not, the anti-terrorist boys are at the front line thesedays.
I bet the pins, ties and cufflinks ploddy wears are sold in the club shop...
