U.S. reportedly weighs thousands more troops for Afghan war

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Pentagon is considering sending up to 7,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan next year to make up for a shortfall in contributions from NATO allies, the New York Times reported on Saturday.
The increase would likely result in "the re-Americanization" of the war, one U.S. official said, according to the Times. U.S. forces would then account for two-thirds of foreign troops in Afghanistan, it said.

(RG) NATO is outdated and needs scrapping and totally overhauled. Why should we fund lazy Nations who don’t pull their weight? Time to cut loose the malingering European so called Allies.

  1. Long time no visit...sorry....Good post. I hadn't read about the increase next year, but I wouldn't be at all surprised. We have been footing much of th bill there for many years and it doesn't seem like it is going to change much, unless we get a leader with Go--ds. God willing....stay well....
