Nothingness
At times I cannot believe that this country this world is my true reality. I realise I see things through a more cynical eye due to the things these eyes have seen. Forget all the Wars and Famine and earthquakes for a second because celebrity Big Brother is on TV. This dross is unfortunately what most Brits like to watch and sums up the dire straights we are in. Watching Devina McCall pull a ridiculous expression and say "Shall we have another one?" before you ask I cannot turn the TV over as my partner watches it and if I don’t sit their in a zombie like trance I am considered to be ignorant, because like I said earlier this crap is the norm in the UK.
Apparently Danielle above thought Winston Churchill was the first Black US President!
I was happy once
Sad last year
Sad last week
Crying in my beer
Sad today
Will be sad next week
Full of self pity
Its nothingness I seek.

I am so sorry. I am being perfectly serious. I don't know what I would do if I had to watch that drivel. When I was married or when I am with a man and I lose the TV coin toss, the alternative is almost always a sport. Also, they are generally happy if I will sit beside them and read. But most of the time I am alone and I like it. Right now I have CSpan Book Notes on. Robert Spencer is speaking on his book "The Truth About Muhammed".
ReplyDeleteHappily this does not come up a lot for me. I don't watch a lot of TV and those around me are not big TV people.
So what are you thinking while you sit there? Are you daydreaming? Do you doze off?
Now that would be telling Maggie!
ReplyDeleteI honestly feel for you Sweetheart, I absolutely detest that programme -I'd rather curl up with a good book than watch it!
ReplyDeleteNo....telling would be if you told me what you were daydreaming about.......
ReplyDeleteMaggie, a gentleman never tells.
ReplyDeleteA gentlemen...how disappointing.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my side of the Atlantic, pouting.
